FG Keeps Mum On Buhari’s Return Date
- The Federal Government (FG), on Wednesday, refused to disclose the exact arrival date of President Muhammadu Buhari from London, the United Kingdom (UK).
- Lai Mohammed said the government was currently more concerned with the issue of insecurity bewildering the country.
The Federal Government (FG), on Wednesday, refused to disclose the exact arrival date of President Muhammadu Buhari from London, the United Kingdom (UK).
President Buhari is expected to return this week after he departed Nigeria for London on Tuesday, 30 March 2021 for a routine medical checkup.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, had in a statement penultimate Monday announced the arrival period to be the second week of April 2021.
“He is due back in the country during the second week of April 2021,” Adesina had said in the statement.
However, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, evaded the question when asked of the date Nigerians should expect the President Buhari this week.
Speaking after Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Minister said, “Today is Wednesday, this week finishes on Saturday.
“So, what’s the big issue in that one?”
Lai Mohammed said the government was currently more concerned with the issue of insecurity rocking the country.
