The Federal government is to allow Nigerians own the nation’s diamond jubilee celebration due to their high innovative and creative spirit.

Consequently, government has given N16. 5 million cash reward to winners of the Nigeria @60 Diamond and Innovation Challenge with the theme, “Together at 60.”

The contest is an initiative of the Inter-Ministerial Committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to encourage Nigerian youths on creativity and innovation.

Presenting the gifts, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, observed that government wanted to make the celebration an all-encompassing affair to give the citizens a sense of belonging.

He thereafter presented cheques of N3 million each to all the first place winners, N1.5 million apiece to the runners-up, while the third place winners got N1 million each.
