FG Unveils Conditions To Be Met By Passengers As International Flights Resume

The Federal Government of Nigeria have outlined mandatory guidelines to be followed by all passengers consequent to the reopening of International Flights after a lockdown of about five months.

The guidelines are expected to be followed in order to reduce to the barest minimum the passengers chances of contracting the deadly disease.

The Minister of Aviation thus unveiled the following guidelines:

  • The passengers must always carry out a COVID-19 test before the actual date for departure.
  • Passengers will be required to pay through a portal for COVID-19 test after 8 days from the date of arrival into the country.

  • Passengers will be required to fill some health questionnaires online, print them and submit to the appropriate authorities on their arrival into the country.

  • Passengers are equally to adhere to non- pharmaceutical measures such washing of hands, physical distancing, wearing of face masks and temperature taking which shall be regularly carried out at the airports.

The reopening of international flights is considered a bold step towards resuscitation of the country’s economy which is already dwindling.
