FIBA World Cup Qualifiers: Nigeria To Revenge Afrobasket Loss To Uganda
- All eyes will be on the clash against Uganda on the 28th after the latest Afrobasket loss.
Nigeria will be looking to revenge their 2021 Afrobasket ouster when they battle Uganda in the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria will also take on Mali and Cape Verde according to the draws conducted at the Federation of International Basketball Associations headquarters in Mies, Switzerland, on Tuesday, as the team eyes a back to back World Cup appearance.
The former champions of Africa, Nigeria, crashed out of the Afrobasket championships in Kigali Rwanda after falling 68-80 to lowly-rated Uganda.
The D’Tigers had qualified for this Qualification to Quarter-Finals fixture by finishing second from Group C while the Ugandans finished the group phase in third place.
A win would have ensured Nigeria remained on track for a second Afrobasket title after an earlier 68-77 loss to Cote d’Ivoire in their final group game on Sunday.
