Earlier today, Naija News reported that Finidi George has selected his assistant coaches, two of whom are foreign, but their identities were undisclosed.
Hours after the NFF introduced Finidi George as the head coach of the Super Eagles, the identities of the foreign assistants were disclosed.
One of them is Benjamin James, who has experience playing in the Nigeria Premier Football League, Germany, and Italy.
Hence, be boasts over a decade of involvement with the Bundesliga club, TSG Hoffenheim.
James will take on the role of Finidi George’s primary assistant coach, with Daniel Amokachi assuming the position of secondary assistant coach.
Another foreign addition to the team is Chima Onyeike, a 48-year-old fitness trainer born in Zeist, Netherlands.
He was born to a Nigerian father and a Dutch mother.
Onyeike has served as a fitness coach for Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
Also, Greek club PAOK, and Bundesliga side VFB Stuttgart.
The sole non-Nigerian member of the coaching staff is Turkish match analyst Mehmet Ozturk, who will fulfill that role for the Super Eagles.
Olatunji Baruwa, who has served as the team’s goalkeeper coach for over two years, will continue in his role under Finidi’s leadership.
