Eko Hot Blog reports that The newly appointed Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, has stated that he will soon announce his assistant coaches amid circulating rumors regarding discussions between him and the Nigeria Football Federation regarding his coaching staff.

On April 29, Finidi George was appointed as the official coach of the Super Eagles.
Surpassing other contenders such as fellow 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner Emmanuel Amuneke, US men’s U-19 coach Michael Nsien, Sylvanus Okpala, and several other candidates for the position.
With just a month remaining until his first challenge of guiding the team against South Africa and Benin Republic in two pivotal 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Finidi has not yet announced his assistants.
Rumors suggest that the NFF is pushing for the ex-international to collaborate with Daniel Amokachi and former captain Vincent Enyeama as goalkeeper trainer.
While the coach supposedly leans towards foreign assistants.
When questioned by Punch correspondent about the timing of his assistant appointments, Finidi responded, “Very soon.”
Also, Ademola Olajire, spokesperson for the NFF, emphasized that the nation’s football governing body would not yield to rumors.
