Fire Engulfs Anambra Broadcasting Service In Awka

Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), the state-owned radio station, has had a portion of its building completely destroyed by fire.

EkoHotBlog reports that one of the station’s buildings is where the fire is believed to have begun early on Monday, October 31.

According to a source, firefighters fought the fire for six hours before it was finally put out.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the station management nor the cause of the fire could be determined.

Sir Chido Obidiegwu, the managing director of ABS, reportedly expressed amazement over the tragedy but thanked God that no member of the establishment’s personnel was killed in the incident.
