The Oyo State Fire Services Agency has confirmed that an inferno destroyed eight shops and properties valued at millions of naira in an incident that occurred near the Sango Police Division Headquarters in Ibadan.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Chairman of the agency, Mr. Moroof Akinwande, disclosed this in a statement released in Ibadan on Tuesday.

According to Akinwande, the fire broke out on Monday and affected eight out of the 84 shops located in the area.
He explained that the agency received a distress call at exactly 12:43 p.m. from a resident identified as Mr. Akanni, prompting the immediate deployment of firefighters led by ACFS Bamidele Samsudeen.

“On arrival, our team discovered that eight shops were already engulfed by flames,” he said, adding that officers swiftly contained the blaze to prevent it from spreading further.
The firefighting operation was carried out in collaboration with personnel from the Federal Fire Service, Ibadan Command.
Akinwande confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident, while investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fire.
