First Man To Appear On Television In Nigeria Dies

The First Man to appear on Televison in Africa, Kunle Olasope has died at age 82.

On the 31st of October 1959 , Kunle Olasope alongside Anike Agabje-Williams were the first Broadcasters to appear, and read scripts on the first Television in Africa, when Western Nigeria Television WNTV, Ibadan was established by the western regional government of Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

The Octogenarian was a native of Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State.

During his Lifetime, Kunle Olasope was once the Board Chairman, Broadcasting Services of Ekiti State, and served as the Chief Press Secretary to Bisi Onabanjo during his regime as Governor of Ogun State in 1980.
