Africa Startup Summit Kigali, has selected for its second edition, 11 African tech startups to pitch on stage, with 5 Nigerian Startups – OkwuEco, HouseAfrica, Limestart, ThankUCash and Riby, participating.
This cohort of startups were selected from a pool of 100 applications across Africa. After review, the 11 startups were shortlisted from six African countries. The lists is a diverse one as it cuts across startups from various verticals – edtech, fintech, proptech, agritech, recruitment and waste management.
Nigeria-based startup, HouseAfrica aims to help Africans own shares in multiple
properties, and make returns from house sales profit, sales appreciation and rental profits. OkwuEco, is a marketplace that enables users to trade their solid waste irrespective of location.
Limestart, aids financial inclusion for unbanked SMEs across Africa by helping them digitise their financial books and handle their payments digitally.
Thank U Cash is an online rewards platform that allows consumers to save and earn loyalty points that can be swapped for cash while merchants benefit from the extra spend. Riby, provides a simple and smart financial management platform that allows cooperatives, company groups, and individuals to manage their financial and saving activities.
The other 6 startups consist of two from Kenya – MarketForce, M-Lugha App, The Awareness Company from South Africa, BAG Innovation from Rwanda, M-omulimisa from Uganda and Talents Africa from Egypt.
The 11 startups will have the chance to pitch at the Africa Tech Summit Kigali, Rwanda between 5th – 6th February, in the presence of over 600 stakeholders in the tech startup space across the continent.
As such, the startups will have the opportunity create impact connections with investors, corporates, stakeholders and startups. They could also secure funding from investors interested in their solution.
Beyond pitching they will also have the opportunity to attend the rest of the event, which features two other summits, while taking part in a variety of workshops.
