Five Protesting Students Allegedly Killed in Taraba By Nigerian Soldier

In Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, at least five students of Holy Ghost Secondary School have been killed by some armies stationed in the community.

According to report, a witness reported the case to the police, who immediately made an arrest of a the student’s teacher named Matthew alongside other civil defence operatives.

The witness narrated further that students of the school gathered themselves and protested against the unlawful arrest of their teachers.

During the student’s protests, they screamed with one voice for the release of Matthew so that the families involved in the case can settle the issue mutually.

On seeing the protesting students, the team of special forces opened fire on them and killed some of the students protesting.

Some students were able to escape the bullets as they ran to a nearby river and drowned in the process.

Five students has been confirmed dead and many others are still missing.

A source told reporters:

“Some of the students protested against the arrest of their teacher and demanded that he should be released. But the special force stationed at the village, on seeing the protesting students, immediately invited their colleagues stationed at Kofai Amadu and the combined team of special forces opened fire on the protesting students, killing some.

“Some of them also ran into a nearby river and drowned in the process. Over five corpses have been discovered while many are still missing,”
