- Oba Oyewumi was born on May 27, 1926, to the Gbagun ruling house.

His father, Oba Bello Oyewumi Ajagungbade II, reigned from 1916 to 1940 and his grandfather, Oba Gbagungboye Ajamasa Ajagungbade I, reigned from 1869 to 1871.

Oba Oyewumi was the 20th Soun of Ogbomoso.

He was crowned on October 24, 1973, and reigned for 48 years.
