Eko Hot Blog reports that a tanker conveying Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) fell across the road at T-Junction area of Epe on Monday morning, resulting in a fire outbreak.
The fire wreaked havoc on several buildings, leading to the community counting its losses after the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service put out the fire.
However, no life was lost as a result of the inferno.
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has commiserated with the victims in the Temu Community.
According to a statement by Anomo’s Media and Publicity Team Monday evening, the LCDA boss visited the scene of the incident in company of the Special Adviser on Budget, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Hon. Shakiru Bello.
Anomo was said to have played a vital role in making sure that first responders arrived at the scene early and also preventing people who were trying to steal fuel leaking from the tanker from doing so.
“Akogun Anomo commended the efforts of all first responders who assisted in arresting the situation and specially appreciated Governor Babajide Sanwoolu for establishing an efficient fire service and an Emergency Response centre in Epe, which made it possible to stop the inferno from causing more damages,” the statement reads.
Also at the venue of the incident was the Vice Chairman, Epe Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe; Epe SLG, Hon Saheed Rahman and others.
Akogun Anomo promised victims from Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, who lost their properties to the fire, that the local government will assist to relieve the loss.
