Flamingos Held To 1-1 Draw By Mexico In Pre-World Cup Friendly

Nigeria’s Flamingos were held to a 1-1 draw by Mexico in a friendly match on Monday as both teams continued preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

Faridat Abdulkareem opened the scoring for the Flamingos in the 33rd minute, but Mexico leveled the match just three minutes before halftime.

The Flamingos are set to compete in Group A of the tournament alongside hosts Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and New Zealand.

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team will kick off their campaign against New Zealand on October 16, 2024.
