Flood Sweeps Away Final Year Student In Ondo

A final year female student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, identified as Doyin has lost her life after she was swept away by heavy flood.

The unfortunate incident, according to eye witness, also claimed the lives of two other people.

It was gathered that the house of the deceased was close to a canal and she was swept away as a result of the torrential rainfall that lasted for over eight hours.

The Ondo State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Gboyega Adefarati who paid a sympathy visit, warned people from building houses very close to canals.

Adefarati also cautioned against blocking drainages with refuse, an act which leads to flooding.
