This achievement marks the first time since the 2009-2010 season that both of these prestigious awards have been claimed by English players.
Foden’s stellar season saw him score 19 goals in 35 Premier League appearances, playing a crucial role in Manchester City’s historic fourth consecutive league title. At just 23 years old, he also became the youngest player to win six league titles.
This is the first time that Foden has won the PFA Player of the Year award, after winning the Best Young Player twice in the past.
Foden’s remarkable achievements highlight his significant contributions to Manchester City’s success, including his 18 trophies with the club.
On the other hand, Palmer, 22, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer was the Blues’ best player with 22 goals and 11 assists in 33 Premier League games.
