In Anambra, a bag of garri is now ₦75,000, down from ₦90,000 in June, while a basket of tomatoes has dropped from ₦100,000 to between ₦80,000 and ₦85,000.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the cost of a bag of chili pepper also saw a sharp decline, from ₦120,000 to ₦60,000, with a paint bucket now priced at ₦3,500, down from ₦8,000. Other items like cayenne pepper and crayfish have also seen price reductions.
In Ebonyi State, despite the rise in prices of many food items, garri prices have dropped. A bag now sells for between ₦24,000 and ₦28,000, down from ₦35,000 to ₦40,000 in June.
However, other staples like beans and rice have remained expensive.
The high prices of food items are attributed to elevated transportation costs, and local customs, such as the delay in celebrating the new yam festival, have kept yam prices high in the state.
Enugu State has seen price decreases in garri, yams, tomatoes, and onions, with a 100-kg bag of white garri now at ₦105,000, down from ₦134,400, and the price of a basket of tomatoes dropping from ₦60,000 to ₦50,000.

These price changes reflect the impact of the ongoing harvest season, which has increased the supply of certain food items, leading to lower prices.
However, transportation costs and local customs continue to influence the market.
