For dropping out of AFCON, fan tells Osimhen to forget the world cup

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a football fan has told Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen to forget being selected for the world cup later this year, for dropping out of the Super Eagles team currently in Cameroon for the African Cup Of Nations, AFCON.

Osimhen got this strange warning, when he wished the Nigerian football team well in Cameroon, as they kickstart their AFCON campaign on Tuesday against Egypt.

“Good luck to the Super Eagles as they begin their AFCON campaign tomorrow against Egypt…let’s go!!!” Osimhen posted.

Here is the response he got from a fan with the username, @akannibiodun: “As you don’t join them for AFCON, just forget going to the world cup.”

It will be recalled that Interim boss of the Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen, last week revealed that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen pulled out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations because of health issues.

The 23-year-old withdrew from the Nigeria squad after constant back and forth between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Napoli.

Osimhen had sustained a nasty facial injury in late November, after colliding with Milan Skriniar in their 3-2 defeat to Inter Milan.
