Foremost African philosopher, Professor Sophie Oluwole has died at the age of 83.
According to family sources, Professor Oluwole who was popularly known as Mamalawo, died yesterday Sunday December 23rd at about 8pm after a protracted illness.
Oluwole was the first Nigerian female doctorate degree holder in philosophy and a practitioner of Yoruba philosophy. She taught African Philosophy at the University of Lagos UNILAG for six years between 2002 and 2008.
