EKO HOT BLOG reports that former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has advised Arsenal players to stop thinking about the Premier League title race and focus on winning their next game against Southampton. Neville’s advice comes after the Gunners drew 2-2 with West Ham United on Sunday, which further slimmed their chances of winning the league title.
Arsenal had drawn with Liverpool a week earlier, and they have a crucial game against their title rivals, Manchester City, later this month, which they must win to keep their title hopes alive.
Gary Neville, a Premier League legend, believes that Arsenal still has a good chance of winning the league if they take his advice. “But today, I think Arsenal just need to make sure they recover for Friday night and take a single game at a time, get seven points in front,” Neville said on Sky Sports.
He continued, “Do your job against Southampton, be solid, get seven points clear and the Manchester City game at the Etihad will be a once-in-a-lifetime game.”
Arsenal is currently in top spot in the Premier League, 4 points above Manchester City with a game ahead, thus scaring the Gunners into a position the team does not want to be in against Manchester City.
Arsenal will play bottom-table Southampton on Friday night, and a win will take them seven points clear of City before their crucial clash later this month.
