Former APC Leader, Lanre Rasaq Laid To Rest In Epe, Lagos state

A former All Progressive Congress leader, chief Lanre Rasaq alias KLM has been buried in his native town, Epe Lagos.

Correspondent Oyinlola Ojetola learned that he was severely sick for some months before he died at the age of 74. He was on life support and oxygen 3 weeks ago in a hospital on Victoria Island. The wife had confirmed the situation and said he was getting better until he gave up the ghost.

Lanre had his primary and post-primary education at Epe and Ijebu-ode, respectively. Lanre furthered his education at Newton College United kingdom. He became the Deputy National Chairman of Nigeria people’s party, NPP, in 2002.

The former APC leader was a chieftain and received the title of the Balogun of Epe land, Fiwagbade of Lagos, Bobagunwa of Ilara, Otunba jagungboye of Odo Iragunshi, Agbasakin of Remo, among others. He was the owner of Rivabond Nigeria LTD, Lagos.

In the build-up to the current political dispensation, chief Lanre was at one time the Deputy National Chairman of All Progressive Party (APC).

The whole of Epe land expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family of the late APC leader and philanthropist.

Hon. Abiodun Tobun, representing Epe Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, was present at the burial. The passing of Chief Lanre Razaq is a colossal loss to the State and Epe Division in particular. He will be greatly missed, he concluded.

The Oloja of Epe land, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, and the Olu Epe of Epe Land, Oba Shefiu Adewale, also sent their heartfelt condolences, respectively to the family of the deceased.
