Former APGA Presidential Candidate, Prof. Peter Umeadi, Expresses Willingness To Contest Again
Eko Hot Blog Prof. Peter Umeadi, SAN, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the last general election, has expressed his willingness to contest the presidency of Nigeria again if given another opportunity.

Umeadi, a former Chief Judge of Anambra State, made this statement during the 2024 General Assembly of the Association of Past Presidents General of Anambra State (APASS), where he was conferred with the “Best Politician of the Year” award.
Speaking at the event, Umeadi emphasized that the Igbo people are entitled to due recompense in a country they have contributed immensely to building. He pledged to continue working towards achieving Igbo inclusion in Nigeria and expressed his satisfaction with the recognition from APASS.
The APASS conferred the “Best Politician of the Year” award on Prof. Peter Umeadi, alongside other distinguished personalities, including the Senator representing Anambra South senatorial district, Commissioner of Police Anambra State, Adeyemi Adeoye, Chairman of Oilserv Group, Dr. Emeka Okwuosa, Vice President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Damian Ogene, and others.
Umeadi revealed that the Association of South East Past Presidents General, consisting of past Presidents General from over 2000 communities in the five South East states of Nigeria, had endorsed him to run for the presidency in 2023. He expressed gratitude for the honor and reiterated his commitment to promoting Igbo interests and fostering national reconciliation.

He stated, “Uppermost in my mind in running for president has been how to reconcile with ourselves across the length and breadth of our dear country Nigeria. If I get another chance, I would do the same thing over again.”
