Nyame, who was sentenced to jail for offences ranging from misappropriation of public funds to embezzlement, regained freedom on Monday.
The former Governor of Taraba State was released alongside former Governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye.
The former Governors were released from detention a few months after President Muhammadu Buhari granted them pardons.
Nyame was sentenced to 12 years for diverting N1.64 billion during his tenure as governor of Taraba, while Dariye was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for N1.126 billion fraud.
The decision of the lawmaker representing Taraba South senatorial district to present the car gift to Nyame has been greeted by mixed reactions.
Some had praised the APC Governorship candidate for taking such steps a few hours after Nyame was released from the correctional centre.
