Kwara State House of Assembly, former Deputy Speaker, Ayodele Shittu, is dead.
Shittu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) died at age 72 on Saturday, August 15.
The politician was chairman of the state-owned International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), Ajase Ipo.
Reacting to the news of his death, the state Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, in a condolence message described Shittu’s demise as shocking.
Abdulrazaq prayed to God to grant Shittu’s soul eternal rest.
The governor commiserated with the family and Offa community.
“It is a very painful development and a sad loss to the state because the former Deputy Speaker was a respected APC leader with widespread goodwill across political divides,” he said.
