While one just announced his retirement, another former Manchester United striker has just completed a move to Watford.
This time, it has to do with Danny Welbeck, who became a free agent after he was released by Arsenal this summer. While The Hornets are expected to formally announce his signing, they did release a short statement on Twitter which reads: “We’re delighted to confirm the signing of England international Danny Welbeck on a free transfer.”
With only 16 goals coming from his almost 100 Premier League appearances for the Gunners, a tally worse than he managed with Manchester United even, it was not such a surprise that 28-year-old Welbeck was released in June following the expiration of his contract.
