Barr Onyekachi Nwebonyi, the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, has quit the party ahead of the Nigerian general elections in 2023.
Nwebonyi, who announced his decision on Tuesday, said he was glad to be leaving the PDP and joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming that members are not kept informed about party affairs.
He claimed the PDP was rife with acts of injustice, especially towards the south-east zone and the Igbo race, and that the party’s presidential ticket for 2023 should have been allocated to the region.
