Former Valencia Star Jose, Castillejo Dies In Spain Floods
The powerful storms, known as DANA (Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos), have caused widespread devastation across the country, leaving hundreds of families mourning loved ones.

Valencia CF, where Jose Castillejo began his journey as a youth player, honoured his memory in a heartfelt statement: “We regret the death of José Castillejo, a victim of the Dana disasters. He was part of the club’s Academy until his youth stage and has played for several teams in the Valencian Community. RIP.”
CD Eldense, a former club of José Castillejo, expressed profound sorrow, stating, “Terrible news reaches us with the catastrophic DANA. We deeply regret the passing of José Castillejo at 28, a former blue-and-red player during the 2015/2016 season. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends.”
Castillejo’s football journey began in the Valencia youth academy, later playing for several local clubs, including Torre Levante, Paterna, Buñol, Recambios Colón, CD Roda, and Villamarxant. During his time with CD Eldense in the 2015-2016 season, he was recognized as a skilled and committed midfielder.
