Four Nigerian Students Jailed in UK Over Leicester Knife Fight
Four Nigerian students in the UK have been sentenced to prison for their roles in a violent knife fight in Leicester, which left one victim with multiple stab wounds.
The incident occurred on November 4, 2021, on New Park Street, Leicester. Police investigations, aided by CCTV footage, phone tracking, and public assistance, led to the identification and arrest of the culprits.
Following a six-week trial that concluded in October, the Leicester Crown Court handed down sentences on November 14. Details were later published on the Leicester Police website.

The students, Destiny Ojo, Habib Lawal, Ridwanulahi Raheem, and Joshua Davies-Ero, all in their early 20s, received sentences ranging from two to seven years.
Destiny Ojo was sentenced to seven years for violent disorder, attempted grievous bodily harm, and GBH with intent.
Lawal received five years for similar charges, while Raheem got three years for violent disorder and possession of a bladed article.

Davies-Ero was sentenced to two years for violent disorder.
A fifth defendant, 22-years-old Justin Asamoah, pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article and will be sentenced on November 22.
Leicester Police commended public cooperation in the investigation and reiterated their commitment to combating violent crime. Detective Constable Sean Downey emphasized the dangers of violent disorder, stating, “It is fortunate that the injuries sustained were not more severe or fatal. Violent behaviour will not be tolerated, and we will continue to take decisive action against offenders to ensure community safety.”
