Four Nigerian Students Sentenced To Death By Hanging

In search of greener pastures and good education, many young Nigerians travel abroad to earn their degree.

Sometimes instead of studying, some of these young Nigerians commit crimes that destroy their future.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the under listed Nigerians were were recently arrested and sentenced to death by hanging for various crimes.

1. Allen Abiodun

In 2019, Allen Abiodun, 33, was sentenced to death for killing his immediate younger brother, Wale, with a broken bottle.

Abiodun reportedly said that his younger brother threatened to kill him before he stabbed him twice, in the stomach and neck.

Until his death sentence, Allen Abiodun was a student at the University of Abuja.

2. Ifeanyi Dike

23 year old Ifeanyi Dike, was arrested for the ritual murder of an innocent 8-year-old girl, Victory Chikanso, in 2017.

Until his arrest, he was a sophomore in the physics department at the University of Port Harcourt.

Ifeanyi Dike reportedly betrayed the young woman before murdering her. He removed her tongue, eyes, finger, and vagina with the help of her cousin, Ugochukwu.

A few weeks after being incarcerated, Ifeanyi escaped from prison after being assisted by Sergeant Johnbosco Okoronze.

However, he was arrested again shortly and sentenced to death by hanging alongside his cousin, Ugochukwu.

The judge also sentenced Sergeant Johnbosco Okoronze to one year in prison for helping Ifeanyi Dike escape from police custody.

3. Azmir and Nnamdi Achonye

Amzir and Nnamdi were Nigerian students studying at a private university in Malaysia.

Instead of pursuing their dreams, they ventured into the drug trade, a practice much rejected by the Malaysian government.

They were detained by Malaysian police after 3.5 kilograms of methamphetamine were found in their apartment.
