Four Suspected Traffic Robbers Land In Police Net As Lagos RRS Recovers Phones, ATM Cards

Eko Hot Blog reports that operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested four suspected traffic robbers.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made the disclosure in a statement on Tuesday.

He revealed that the suspects were arrested while the RRS was on patrol at MKO Abiola’s Garden, Ojota, Lagos, on Christmas eve.

The police spokesperson further disclosed that RRS officers recovered three android phones and an ATM card from the suspected traffic robbers.

“The suspects were arrested at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday after one of the victims alerted RRS bike riders on patrol of the area,” Hundeyin said.

Four suspected traffic robbers

The suspects are: Wasiu Olawale (23) an ex-convict, who was released in May, 2023, Adebayo Olatunbosun (20), Wale John (28) and Uche Ugwu (25), 2/5the gang leader.

Hundeyin noted that, while three of the suspects were arrested on Christmas eve, the fourth suspect was nabbed on Christmas day.

He disclosed that victims have reported at RRS Headquarters, positively identifying the suspects.

“A diligent trail of the suspects by the police led to the arrest of three of them and the recovery of three android phones and ATM card. A fourth suspect was arrested on Monday,” the police spokesperson said.

“Five victims have reported at RRS Headquarters where they have positively identified the suspects.

“The suspects are currently assisting the squad in its investigations.”

Hundeyin added that the suspects are to be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
