Fourth Wave: 2,123 COVID-19 Cases Reported As Daily Tally Reaches New High

  • Total cases confirmed – 227,378
  • Total cases discharged – 211,761
  • Total deaths recorded – 2,989

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 227,378 COVID-19 cases.

In its latest case update dated December 21, the NCDC reports 2,123 new cases with 4 COVID-related death.

The new cases were reported in 11 states – Lagos (1552), FCT (197), Edo (155), Rivers (81), Delta (44), Plateau (33), Kwara (30), Kano (16), Enugu (12), Gombe (2) and Bauchi (1).

According to the NCDC, no case was recorded in Sokoto State.

It was gathered that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 211,761 cases have been discharged while the death toll still stands at 2,989.
