France Vs. Spain Set For Olympics Football Final, Egypt To Face Morocco For Bronze
France defeats Egypt 3-1 in extra time to reach the Olympics men’s football final, where they will face Spain; Egypt and Morocco will compete for the bronze medal.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that France advanced to the final of the 2024 Olympics men’s football after a dramatic semi-final clash with Egypt on Monday, August 5.
Despite an early setback from Egypt’s Mahmoud Saber, France made a strong comeback with Jean-Philippe Mateta scoring a late equalizer, pushing the match into extra time.

Mateta then gave France the lead with a powerful header, and Michael Olise secured the win with a goal in the 108th minute, leading to a 3-1 victory.
This triumph ensured a spot in the final for coach Thierry Henry and his team.
In the other semi-final, Spain earned their place in the final by defeating Morocco 2-1. After conceding an early penalty converted by Soufiane Rahimi, Spain equalized through Fermin Lopez and clinched the victory with a late goal from substitute Juanlu Sanchez.
The final will take place at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Friday, August 9, between France and Spain.

Morocco and Egypt will compete for the bronze medal on Thursday, August 8. Notably, this marks the first time both Egypt and Morocco have reached the semi-final stage in the Olympics football event, guaranteeing a historic bronze medal for either team.
