This is the case for Alhaji Wasiu Ayodele Odeyemi, better known as Hon. Wastab. The former Commissioner II of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission representing Epe Division couldn’t have asked for a better 70th birthday celebration as his friends, family, and associates serenaded him with love.
The event, which held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, witnessed the presence of eminent personalities spanning various sectors, including a former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji; the member of House of Representatives for Epe Federal Constituency, Hon. Wale Raji; the member of Lagos State House of Assembly for Epe Constituency I, Hon. Abiodun Tobun, and Eko Hot Blog Publisher, Otunba TJ Abass.

Alhaji Odeyemi’s 70th birthday celebration, which was monitored by Eko Hot Blog, witnessed various programmes that started with a special prayer at his Epe, Lagos State, residence.
Friends and family joined the celebrant to thank God for good health and the grace to attain the milestone age.

The prayer preceded a reception at the Jubilee Charlette, Epe, where the fresh septuagenarian’s friends, family, and hundreds of well-wishers dined with him.
In his opening speech, Hon. Raji, who chaired the event, described the celebrant as a kind and honourable man.
According to the lawmaker, Alhaji Odeyemi, who was also a lawmaker in the Lagos House of Assembly, has impacted many lives and was worthy of being celebrated.

Following Hon. Raji’s speech, several friends and family members took to the stage to deliver goodwill messages that described the celebrant as a selfless man who treats everyone who knows him with respect and kindness.
The goodwill messages also praised Alhaji Odeyemi for regularly showing up and helping the less privileged.
In characteristic fashion, the celebrant donated several valuable gifts to some youths with the aim of empowering them for success.
The gifts included sewing machines, makeup kits, hairstyling kits, amongst others.

In appreciation of Alhaji Odeyemi’s benevolence, groups such as the Pivotal Group, Odo-Egiri youths, and others came out to present gifts to the celebrant.
The groups sang the praises of the grassroots politician during the gift presentation.
Alhaji Odeyemi’s grand 70th birthday celebration winded up with the celebrant’s friends and family joining him on the dance floor to celebrate his Platinum Jubilee.
