She expressed concern over the low level of compliance among commercial transporters, particularly fleet operators, with many reportedly tampering with speed limit devices or failing to install them entirely.
Alexander also pointed out that many inter-state commercial drivers and fleet operators neglect the requirement to maintain a complete passenger manifest, which includes a column for blood group details.
She emphasized that this information is crucial in case of accidents, as it helps in the prompt identification of victims and facilitates medical intervention.
“From March 1, FRSC will commence total enforcement in Anambra. We will have special intervention patrols where we will stop and check vehicles,” she warned. “Any motorist, especially fleet operators, found sabotaging the implementation of the speed limit device and passengers’ manifest will be arrested.”

The sector commander stressed that the FRSC would no longer tolerate any failure to comply with road safety standards, as these measures are essential in reducing road traffic crashes and saving lives.
She urged commercial drivers to ensure that all passengers fill in their correct details in the manifest before commencing their journey.
Alexander also commended the Anambra State government for its ongoing road construction and rehabilitation efforts, noting that improved road infrastructure would contribute to a reduction in road accidents. However, she appealed to all road users to strictly obey traffic regulations to enhance safety on highways.
