Fruit Expert Advises Families On Regular Fruit Intake To Avoid Diabetes

It is not unusual to see most people snack either at home, workplace, Schools and on the go. Often we snack so much on pastries such as cakes, chin chin, sausage, groundnuts and so without considering their health implications.

However, a fruit styling and safety expert, Foluke Adedokun advises that fruit snacking is much healthier.

Foluke Adedokun believes that fresh fruits are a great option for breakfast as snack or dessert.

She says most fruits are sweet and ready for everyone to eat without cooking or preparing a recipe. She advises all to take an apple, orange, watermelon, banana or any desirable fruit in season and just enjoy.

According to her, Children this days now eat so much of highly processed snacks that are nutritionally poor and a threat to their future health.

These products are loaded with artificial colors, flavors, refined sugars and are super high in calories. Kids are eating more refined sugars than ever before.

According to report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s statistics are alarming. By 2050, 1 in 3 people will have diabetes.

Foluke advises that parents and families can improve and change that by switching many of these unhealthy snack options for fruit and homemade recipes.

“Eating more fresh fruit will help you stay away from processed food. Fruit comes from nature not a factory. The closer to nature, the better for your health. Fruits are naturally low in fat, calories, and have key nutrients that your child needs to grow. Fruit helps protect you from illnesses.”

The healthy living expert, Foluke gives special commendations to schools that had adopted Fruit week as part of schools desire to ensure healthy living.

Urged other schools to emulate such this new year.
