EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statewide broadcast on Sunday, Fubara disclosed that he had met with his legal team, who anticipate obtaining the CTC by Friday, March 7, 2025.
The governor emphasized his commitment to upholding constitutional principles, stating that his administration would act strictly in accordance with the law.
Following the Supreme Court’s ruling nullifying the October 5, 2023, local government elections, Fubara directed the Heads of Local Government Administration (HLGAs) to immediately assume control of the 23 local government councils across the state.
According to him, civil servants will oversee council affairs until fresh elections are conducted by the State Electoral Commission. He also instructed outgoing local government chairmen to formally hand over to the HLGAs by Monday, March 3, 2025.
In his statewide address, Governor Fubara acknowledged the Supreme Court’s ruling and assured that despite disagreements with the judgment, his government would abide by the law.
“Since inception, we have conducted the affairs of government within the framework of our Constitution, due process, and the rule of law,” he stated.
Fubara reiterated that upon receiving the certified judgments, his administration would study their implications and implement them without reservations.

The governor urged residents to remain calm and go about their daily activities peacefully, assuring that the government remains committed to its responsibilities.
