In a heartening development, the rift between popular Fuji music stars Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and his former protégé, Alhaji Taye Akande Adebisi (widely known as Taye Currency), has been amicably resolved.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the reconciliation took place during the ongoing Umrah pilgrimage in Mecca in 2025, where the two artists had a chance encounter.
A viral video showed Pasuma and Taye Currency sitting together and engaging in a friendly discussion, signifying their renewed camaraderie.
The reconciliation has been confirmed by the musicians’ supporters.
Tensions between the duo arose in late 2024, when the latter disapproved of fans referring to Pasuma as his “father” in the music industry.
Taye Currency clarified that he considered Pasuma more of an elder brother, stating that Pasuma couldn’t “father” him.
Following a wave of criticism over his remarks regarding Pasuma role as his mentor, State Currency sought to clarify the situation and mend fences with his fans and Pasuma.
He attributed the controversy to a misinterpretation of his words and expressed remorse for any hurt his statements may have caused.
He directly apologised to Pasuma, as well as to fans who were offended by his comments about the 56-year-old music veteran.
Taye Currency acknowledged Pasuma as his superior in the Fuji music scene, emphasising that he never intended to insult or disrespect the ‘Recognition’ hitmaker.
He further affirmed his respect for Pasuma and commitment to maintaining their professional relationship.
