See List Of Properties Court Asked EFCC To Recover From Okorocha And His Family

Following his arrest and eventual release on bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Senator Rochas Okorocha may have to forfeit some properties he allegedly acquired illegally while he was Governor of Imo State.

Okorocha, who has been having a running battle with his successor, Governor Hope Uzodinma over the ownership of some assets in Owerri which the state government had sealed, was picked up by the EFCC on April 13.

The Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District was later released after the intervention of the presidency.

Meanwhile, an Imo State High Court had later ordered the interim forfeiture of all properties said to be acquired through “illegal means” by Okorocha.

Justice Fred Njemanze gave the order following an ex-parte application filed by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Louis Alozie.

A yet-to-be-confirmed list of properties which Okorocha is expected to forfeit has however surfaced online.

See list of properties below:

  1. The ₦59.6 billion taken from the local government system
  2. The Eastern Palm University

  3. The ₦96 billion of Imo’s IGR for eight years

  4. ₦40 billion siphoned through the unexecuted 27 general hospitals projects.

  5. The Old IBC premises at Orji.

  6. The Nekede and Orji Mechanic Villages.

  7. Also, vast expanse of land on the Sam Mbakwe Airport road which was acquired by the Government for the purpose of attracting a Naval Base.

  8. The Adapalm in Ohaji which Okorocha said was leased out to investors.

  9. The Concorde Hotels, an enviable investment of the State which was allegedly acquired by Okorocha through proxies.

  10. Westbrook Hotels which was built by Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu.

  11. WODDI Wellness Center owned by Okorocha’s wife, Nkechi, built on the former Imo State Secretariat Annex, a land forcefully acquired from the State by Uche Nwosu as Commissioner for Lands.

  12. The Reach FM owned by Uche Nwosu, without any known legitimate means of owning such huge property.

  13. The multi billion Naira Farmers Market built by Geraldine, Okorocha’s sister, on a land belonging to the State.

  14. Over twenty-five plots of State land acquired by Uche Nwosu upon which El Freeda Foundation was built. This is the Foundation through which billions of Naira are said to have been laundered out of the State.

  15. Extervia Mega Supermarket opposite Civic Center Estate owned by Ogechi Ololo, Okorocha’s sister.

Uzodinma and Okorocha

  1. Municipal Plaza owned by Nkechi Okorocha built on a land allegedly acquired under duress from a civil servant by Uche Nwosu.
  2. Twitter Bites reportedly acquired forcefully by Geraldine Okorocha from Mr. Fans.

  3. Spibat Estate.

  4. House of Freeda Malls in Owerri, Abuja and Lagos built by Uloma, Uche Nwosu’s wife.

  5. A mighty poultry farm beside Shoprite owned by Uche Nwosu

  6. A probe into the JPROS financial sleaze perpetrated in Okorocha’s first term.

  7. Recovery of over ₦800 million given to Okorocha’s sister, Geraldine per annum, for Christmas trees.

  8. Recovery of the ₦600 million diverted through the supposed renovation of the Imo State Secretariat.

  9. Recovery of the ₦18 billion looted through the alleged construction of primary school blocks across the State.

  10. Recovery of all the markets in the State which Okorocha has claimed 30% ownership

  11. Recovery of the ISOPADEC funds and the 13% oil derivation funds which amount to over ₦20 billion.

  12. Recovery of the cardboard industry at Owerri-Ebeiri in Orlu.

  13. Recovery of the ₦2 billion diverted through the construction of the Akachi Tower.

  14. A probe into and recovery of over ₦120 billion diverted through failed road projects.

  15. Recovery of hundreds of plots of land taken from the State by Okorocha

  16. Recovery of Imo’s security votes during his eight-year tenure

  17. Recovery of IRROMA equipment worth billions of Naira allegedly looted by Okorocha

  18. Recovery of ITC vehicles and investments allegedly looted by Okorocha
