This recommendation was made during the NJC’s 106th meeting, which was chaired by the current Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, on August 14 and 15.
Justice Olukayode Ariwoola is set to officially retire on August 22, as previously reported by EKO HOT BLOG.
In addition to the CJN nomination, the Council also recommended 28 candidates for appointment as judges of various state courts, as well as one candidate for Kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal in the FCT, Abuja, submitting these recommendations to their respective governors and the President.
