  • Gales Club donates Hospital equipment to Lagos State General Hospital

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a group of nurses who trained at the Lagos State General Hospital, class 1976 and 1979 (Set 9A), who refer to themselves as the Gales Club, have returned to their alma mata to perform corporate social responsibility by donating equipment to the General Hospital that will enhance the quality of treatment given to patients.

The event took place within the premises of the general hospital on Thursday.
President of the Gales Club, Omipe Sadipe, expressed gratitude to God almighty for sparing their lives up till this moment to be able to give back to the institution that trained them.
“We the entire members of the class 9A set, popularly called the bera class of the Lagos state school of nursing have come back home, to thank the Lagos state government for giving us a world standard quality nursing training.

“We are privileged to have enjoyed this world-class training for free and that’s why we are here today Sadipe, said the Gales Club consists of 40 members: 35 females and 5 males. She said the training obtained from the GH, took most of us to the pinnacle of our career both home and abroad, practising in some of the best Nigerian hospitals, corporate health clinics and health facilities all over the world.

 

We are proud to have been trained here, our sincere gratitude goes to God, the Chief Medical Director, the Director of Nursing Services and the Nursing staff members.
It is in light of this, that we have come to give this little set of equipment to the hospital, to show our appreciation and improve the quality of healthcare available in the hospital.
The equipment includes drip stands, 20 trolleys, 200 bedsheets and 2 sets of multi-parameter monitors.

Responding, the Chief Medical Director of Lagos State General Hospital, Dr Ismail Gani Kale, thanked the Gales Club, saying that the donation of the equipment couldn’t have come at a better time.

He said the state government is currently renovating some portions of the hospital and the donation of this equipments will add to the colour of what’s already ongoing.

He however urged the club not to stop carrying out such laudable feat as it goes to help in improving the quality of healthcare administered in the hospital.

The CMD, also promised the Gales Club, that one of the wards in the hospital will be named after them.

Ezekiel Awe, a member of the Gales Club also thanked the management of the hospital for giving them the opportunity to give back out of the much deposited in them by the hospital.

The event ended with a round of photo-taking sessions.
