Gallantry Woman Subdues Armed Robbers Who Attempted To Rob Her

The Imo State Police Command has arrested a member of a robbery gang identified as Ezekiel Anorue, a twenty-nine – year old man who attempted to rob a businesswoman (name withheld) of her Global System Mobile (GSM) telecommunication that worths almost two million naira, with his gang in her compound.

The culprit was said to have been arrested after their victim summoned courage, wrestled and grabbed one of the robbers with his gun after she had received several head butts and blows from him.

It was said that his other members had attempted to take to their heels as her family members tried to grab them.

Ezekiel who was a member of the deadly armed robbery gang was said to have been terrorizing the area and had trailed the victim, a businesswoman who had just closed for the day and was on her way home.

According to a witness who pleaded anonymity, “Three members of the gang had stationed themselves outside the house while two others took positions in the compound.”

The source said further that, “The robbers immediately swooped on their victim who was in the company of her husband and children, trying to snatch from her two bags containing large quantities of mobile phones and recharge cards which all worth N1.7million.”

It was reported that neighbours who were attracted by the distress shouts of the victims soon gathered and prevented other members of the robbery suspect from escape.
