The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has distanced himself from a viral poster suggesting his presidential ambition for the 2027 election.
The poster, which featured the former Kano governor as the APC presidential candidate alongside Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as his running mate, was captioned, “The Winning Team 2027. Vote APC 2027.”
In a statement released on Sunday by his spokesman, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje dismissed the poster as a malicious fabrication, attributing it to the Kwankwassiyya movement led by former Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso. Ganduje clarified that he has no such presidential aspirations and accused the creators of the poster of trying to create discord between him and President Bola Tinubu.
“This is to inform the general public that the poster currently circulating on social media, claiming that the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, is contesting for the Presidency in 2027 with Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as his running mate, is entirely false and a malicious piece of fake news,” the statement read.
The APC chairman reaffirmed his loyalty to President Tinubu, emphasizing his commitment to supporting the President’s vision and leadership. Ganduje expressed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to guide Nigeria toward greater prosperity and unity.
