Genevieve’s ‘Lion Heart’ To Compete With 92 Films For Oscar Award
Genevieve Nnaji’s movie, Lion Heart is set to compete with 92 others, as it represents Nigeria in the International Feature Film category of the 2020 Oscars’s Award.
According to Nigerian Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC) chaired by Chineze Anyaene, ‘Lionheart’ was picked among other movies for its considerable shots at the rules.
The film, which was acquired on September 7, 2018, as first Netflix original film produced in Nigeria, joins the 93 films in the struggle to get their first Oscars on February 9, 2020, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, U.S.
The 93 entries for the category ahead of the 92nd Academy Awards is an increase of six new films against the 2019’s award which had 87 submissions for the same category.

From Africa, Genevieve Nnaji’s ‘Lionheart’ is joined by nine other films and 84 other films are from America.
Lionheart was produced by Chinny Onwugbenu, Chichi Nwoko, Genevieve Nnaji, and directed by Genevieve Nnaji.
The movie features top Nigerian stars such as Pete Edochie, Genevieve Nnaji, Nkem Owoh, Onyeka Onwenu, Kanayo .O. Kanayo, Ngozi Ezeonu, Peter Okoye (P-Square), Phyno among others.
