Genoa Appoints Andriy Shevchenko As Management
- Genoa have appointed Andriy Shevchenko as their manager
- The former Ballon d’OR winner is expected to manage the club till 2024 according to his contract
Ekohotblog reports that Andriy Shevchenko has been appointed as Genoa manager following the sack of Davide Ballardini on Saturday.
The former AC Milan striker, who won the 2004 Ballon d’Or after helping the Rossoneri to Serie A and Champions League triumphs, signed a contract with Genoa till 2024.

The 45-year-old led Ukraine to the Euro 2020 quarterfinals for the first time this year, where they were eliminated by England in Rome.
Genoa are currently 18th in Serie A after 12 games, having picked up one win all season.
Shevchenko, who retired from playing in 2012, is Ukraine’s all-time record goalscorer with 48 goals in 111 games.
His deal with Genoa would be his first managerial role at club level.
