EKO HOT BLOG reports that one Kwame Amponsah, a 23-year-old barber, was sentenced to 114 years in jail by a Mpraeso Circuit Court in Ghana for allegedly sodomizing 12 schoolboys in Atawase, a neighbourhood of Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly.
Victor Fayi, the head of the Kwahu West Social Welfare Department, said the crime was discovered on November 5th, 2021, after officials on a field mission were notified that a young barber in the village was sexually assaulting school students.
They were able to apprehend the culprit using such information and the assistance of an Assembly member and opinion leaders.
Fayi said;
“From there we had to take him to DOVVSU which is part of the Ghana Police Service so interrogation started and the guy was remanded for seven days.”
He admitted to sodomizing ten of his students after ten students testified against him. The barber was originally accused of sodomizing ten boys, which he admitted to, prompting the judge to sentence him to 100 years in jail, with 10 years for each of them.
The offender pled guilty again and requested forgiveness after proof of the sodomization of two additional youngsters was obtained and presented in court. The court lowered the two men’s sentences to seven years apiece.
Kwame Amponsah, 23, was sentenced to 114 years in jail in total.
