Give Your Alms To Private Schools Staff, Sheikh Urges Muslims
Al-Sheikh Sulaiman Kegbegbe has advised all the Muslims to give their Zakat-l-Fitr (almsgiving by Muslims to the poor at the end of Ramadan fast) to the private school teachers and other staff, adding that they are in need of palliative care at this period of COVID-19.
The Islamic scholar said the ways the proprietors and proprietresses are running private schools nowadays, especially with their teachers and non-teaching staff, is barbaric and should be condemned by the ministry of education and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
He added that the owners of all the schools involved should have prepared for a miscellaneous budget in case natural disasters occurred, instead they are preaching ‘no work no pay’.

However, the situation of these private employees could be maintained if the Muslims could give out their Zakat-l-Fitr and other palliative care to them.
“I wish all the Muslims happy Eid-il-Fitr and may Almighty Allah accept all our good deeds during the month of Ramadan as an act of worship,” he said.
