Gladys Oluwatoyin Unveils Scholarships, Business Grants In Inaugural Address

Eko Hot Blog reports that in a rousing speech during her chieftaincy conferment as “Yeye Asoludero of Itire Land,” Gladys Oluwatoyin Atawo laid out visionary initiatives to uplift citizens through education, vocational training, and small business growth.

Speaking before Oba Tajudeen Ishola Odubivi, the Onitire of Itire Land, and jubilant crowds, the newly minted chief announced annual scholarships worth 100,000 naira each for two Itire boys and two girls to pursue studies irrespective of their field.

“We will be providing financial help to four students of Itire land, two boys, two girls irrespective of their field of study,” she pledged. In an initial display of support, she presented three students with 100,000 naira checks.

The philanthropic leader also spotlit assisting young locals gain skills and trades, saying “we will also be supporting our artistsans those who might be trying to learn hairdressing, welding, carpentry, whatever it is we will be supporting them every year.”

Noting the Yoruba legacy of commerce, Yeye Asoludero further promised a 100,000 naira yearly business grant or inventory budget for Itire traders of all kinds to expand their enterprises.

“You know the Yoruba culture we are traders by nature we sell anything so we will be also supporting our traders by supporting them to enlarge their business, to grow on the different part whatever it is they wish,” she emphasized.

In another pledge to youth advancement, the chief stated her support would encompass training for students preparing to take critical exams like JAMB to enter Nigerian universities.

“We will be paying for teachers to come and teach them to help them study so that they will be successful to do their jamb exams,” she explained.

Yeye Asoludero capped her address by inviting attendees to back the initiatives through prayers, well wishes and generous donations – laying out a roadmap for community uplift in Itire Land on the auspicious day marking her ascendance to the chieftaincy throne.
