-
The sale of Manchester United is being fast tracked by the Glazers with numerous bids for the Old Trafford club flushing in months after its sale was first announced.
-
Rumored runners for the buyout of the club are Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad and British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United’s owners, the Glazers, have reportedly invited rival bidders to submit a third offer for the Premier League club by the end of April. This comes as part of a strategic review that the Glazers announced in November 2022, which included the possibility of selling the club.
Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Jaber Al Thani and British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe are among the potential buyers who have submitted second bids for the club.

However, despite several offers being received in recent weeks, these two remain the frontrunners for the club should the Glazers decide to relinquish control.
Sheikh Jassim’s group has reportedly offered around £5 billion for 100% ownership of the club, while Ratcliffe is looking to buy the Glazers’ 69% shareholding.
The Glazers’ asking price is believed to be around $6 billion, which would make Manchester United the most expensive sports club in history.
The bidding process has also attracted Finnish entrepreneur Thomas Zilliacus and US hedge fund Elliott Investment Management, which is said to have made a bid for a minority stake.
The Glazers have come under fire from many United supporters over the past 18 years for accumulating huge debts at the club.
Although they appeared ready to cash out at a large profit when they invited external investment in November, they could yet decide not to sell a controlling stake.
The bidding process is being closely watched by fans and analysts alike, with many speculating on the potential impact a change in ownership could have on the club’s future.
