EKO HOT BLOG reports that the convener of the Concerned Omoluabi Caucus, a Houston-based lawyer, Dr Olu McGinnis Otubusin, has paid an emotional tribute to his late cousin and APC Chieftain, Kemi Nelson, in Punch Newspaper, as her remains were interred in Lagos.
‘God only takes the best.’ Dr Otubusin, wrote in the published Obituary, which included a boisterous picture of the late APC Chieftain with an emotional letter, sighted by EKO HOT BLOG.
This online media platform recalls that Nelson died on Sunday, July 17, at the age of 66. The socialite whose death sent shock waves across Lagos political and social establishment had been unwell for a while, treating undisclosed ailments at different hospitals.
In the obituary, the former President of Egbe Omo Yoruba, North America, laments the loss of his cousin who he said left them too early. He described her demise as an occurrence that could only be planned by God. He wrote:
“Our family has lost a Gem in Oluwakemi.
“God only takes the best, everything happens for a reason, even if we may not agree.
“Just promise as you are laid to rest to look after us.
“The thought of never seeing you again brings tears to my eyes, more so because this was such a surprise.
“We should never question what God has planned, sometimes it’s not meant for us to understand.
“We sit here and mourn the love of a Gem.
“We ha e to keep telling ourselves that we will meet again.
“You will forever be in our hearts.
“Oluwakemi Sun-un re o.”
Kemi Nelson was once the Commissioner for Establishment, Training and Job Creation, Women Affairs, and Poverty Alleviation.
The late politician who was the Yeyesewa of Lagos was the only female member of the Governing Advisory Council of Lagos APC.
She had also served as the women leader of the Lagos State chapter of APC and was later made the southwest women leader of APC.
She is well known in the social circle for her low-cut hairstyle, her unique headgear and her dancing prowess.
Kemi Nelson was married to Mr Adeyemi Nelson and they are both blessed with wonderful children.
