Eko Hot Blog reports that, in a heartwarming gathering, the Molusi College Student Association (MOCOSA) set of 1969/1973 came together at the Home Base Hotel in Ijari Ijebu-Ode on Friday, November 25th, to commemorate their golden 50th anniversary since graduating from secondary school.
The festivities kicked off with a Friday night get-together where members of the MOCOSA set of 1969/1973 immersed themselves in nostalgic conversations about their shared experiences during their secondary school years.
Laughter and camaraderie filled the air as they danced to the backdrop of carefully selected background music, reviving cherished memories.
MOCOSA Global VP 2, Venerable Dr Abayomi Odeniyi, speaking at the gathering, took to the stage to express gratitude for life and the happiness of their reunion.
He extended heartfelt appreciation to those who played pivotal roles in orchestrating the success of the commemorative event.
Venerable Odeniyi, while keeping the audience intrigued, hinted at an upcoming project to be unveiled on Saturday, urging support and participation.
He expressed joy upon learning that colleagues from Ibadan were in attendance.
The Molusi College old student also commended Eko Hot Blog for its commendable presence in Nigeria’s media landscape.
“The success of the reunion is evident with our Ibadan colleagues here. Kudos to Eko Hot Blog; the true essence of journalism resides in that media house,” he said.
Dr. Odeniyi expressed gratitude to the management, remembered the approximately 40 lost members, and announced an upcoming gala night in Lagos.
Looking forward, he emphasised the importance of representation at the 75th Founder’s Day, urging at least 10 individuals to participate and contribute, both financially and by attending.
In a solemn moment, attendees paid homage to departed colleagues with a minute of silence, underscoring the bittersweet nature of reunions.
MOCOSA 1969/1973 Set Chairman, Mr. Yomi Hussein, extended warm greetings to all and expressed gratitude to those instrumental in bringing the reunion to fruition.
Reflecting on the joy the set brought him, he humorously shared, “I’ve claimed to dance only once in 5 years. The last time was on this very stage five years ago.
“Since I took on the role of a mosque priest, I abstain from dancing to maintain the calmness. However, today, after 5 years, it’s the MOCOSA set of 69/73 that has compelled me to dance once more.”
Mr. Hussein concluded by sincerely thanking every member for their unwavering support and significant contributions to the success of the reunion.
As the night unfolded, the celebrants indulged in a feast, dancing, and lively conversations. The atmosphere resonated with the echoes of shared stories, echoing the enduring bond that unites the Molusi College Class of ’69/’73.
The weekend’s festivities not only celebrated five decades of friendship and shared memories but also set the stage for continued unity, with a call to represent their set at the upcoming 75th founder’s Day early next year and plans for further end-of-year meetings.
The golden reunion of the Molusi College Class of ’69/’73 stood as a testament to the enduring bonds forged during their formative years, a celebration of the past and a hopeful gaze toward the future.
